Started with cat litter tray and a further little present one of them left on the rug for me!!!!! did question them but no one said Miaow...... Vowed not to go on computer hmmmmm. Has been a lovely day though, perfect Turkey dinner with the family, then walk with dog over fields, then turned horses out. Watching Strictly now and then 'Call the Midwife'...
I was up last night with a horse that's had colic since Sunday. Desperately needed the vet again this morning but their local mobile phone masts and phone lines are down. Eventually got hold of someone and got the mare on a drip and dosed up so she could travel to the vet hospital. It's a massive impaction so fingers crossed they can shift it.
RobinHood, all fingers crossed that the mare with colic makes it ok. What a nightmare that the phone lines were down too.
Thanks everyone for the many and varied replies. Quite a common theme of clearing up various waste matter excretions, (mainly, but not exclusively ) from various animals big and small (!) and also sundry everyday duties. Hope everyone has had a reasonably Ok Christmas, we're going to settle down en famille to watch Dr Who in a bit.
Rode my Lad, then wanted to turn him out ....but everyone else was in and he does not do alone! So had to find him a stable near others and equip it for a comfy Christmas. He could not go in his usual box, as it was bereft of company! Fussy chap!! but I love him!
I clipped my girl, she was very naughty! My 2 were in yesterday because of the weather so I took the chance, whilst she was clean and dry to whip the hair off her.
Plus, we had our xmas dinner yesterday so today was a chill out day.
Got up 3.30 am, milked cows (200 of them), fed calves. Fed horses, turned and mucked them out, cleaned fridge, had a late breakfast, sat down for an hour, brought cows into collecting yard, miked cows (201..one of dry cows calved yesterday), brought horses in, fed horses, made some dinner (chicken, chips and beans), watched top gear and now off bed so I can get up 3.30 tomorrow morning.........GOOD NEWS THOUGH.... have a releif milker Fri, Sat and Sun so we have Christmas dinner and pressies then.
Got to the yard as early as possible to get horses done and exercised while the weather was nice, then walked and groomed the dogs before officially starting christmas. Also cleaned the bathroom because it was annoying me
I think I've broken my big toe by dropping a jar of flaming bisto on it.it turned black about 2 hours ago. Lay in my bed and cried but catty offered me no sympathy so got up again. Hoping drinking wine will help, it's really sore!
Watched Eastenders- always has that extra something special at Christmas... They just know how to get festive cheer right.
Wish I'd stayed longer at the stables lol!
Left my totally non horsey OH have a go at long rein hacking with my baby horse. Walked the dogs, contemplated whippet murder, as my youngest took off hunting rabbits and WOULD NOT come back. We had to get in the car and drive off before he would be caught!!! Then my OH had to clean dog sick out of the passenger side door as said whippet obviously puked at some point yesterday and we didnt notice till today! Oh and I took the motor bike for petrol too!
