as title, my OH is combining and haven't seen him for days! Predictably I get to exercise his horse ready for hunting and then sit here like Mrs no mates on a Saturday night! Anyone else in the same boat?

Well, not quite, but...

I have been a rowing widow all week (due to a week long comp) and then it turned up at 3.30 am this morning pi$$ed as a newt and is too hungover today to do anything. And for once I actually needed its help too as ponio stomped on my foot yesterday and walking is a bit difficult!

jesstickle, classic! How typical, they are always hungover when you need them most!

Flowerlady, he works for a farmer so he doesn't have much choice when he finishes poor love, I do feel for him when he gets in at 11.30pm and has to be at work for 7am!

im not a tractor widow but im a harvest widow. bored stupid and the horse is nackered cos i have to much time on my hands

Mine are exactly the same, I've had the week off and cos OH has been combining I have had nothing to do except ride. My poor 4 year old runs away when she sees me coming now, I have ridden her everyday, bathed her, plaited her mane over and pulled her tail this week, I think she can't wait for me to go back to work!

To be fair to the old boy he is usually pretty reliable and he commutes to London so I can have my horse so I'll let him off this time.

hee hee "it"!! I'm alone on saturday night as my OH lives 2 hours away and I'd rather ride this weekend than see him

I mean 'it' in a nice way. Its an it or else its called 'the boy' my friends write my xmas cards to 'jess and the boy' but it doesn't mind. Bless. I don't mean anything nasty I'm just more horsey than boy-y and I call all horses it!

no no!! I didn't think you meant it in a bad way! it's quite sweet :)

Yes!! As i'm sat here on line OH is in a tractor!! Won't be long before i'm off roading in my little 106 to top up his flask or deliver some sandwiches! Funny thing is he drives our 4x4 to pick up the tractor. The 4x4 sits in the yard all day, yet I'm not allowed to take it to work 'incase' he needs it so end up rattling in the fields with my 106??!!

I am so pleased I'm not the only one, my OH is just the same takes the Disco to work and leaves me with the Alpha which is the worst off roading car for delivering flask top ups and sandwiches! They really are the limit!!

Another harvest widow here, although not so bad for me as we are not at the living together stage (my job requires me to live on site as does his and we've only been together for a shortish time). I am now reduced to letting myself into his house, eating his food and watching TV until he comes home, knackered and dirty from combining all day. Then I cook for him while he has a bath and have a quick cuddle before he passes out! I sit up on foal watch for 4 to 5 months of the year so the tables are turned then.

I think my horse is about to become a Tractor Bored Horse because unless I can get myself out of bed early enough to ride first thing in the morning it is going to be ME driving the trailers and being Yard Man and Sandwich person as well. It doesn't get any easier as you get older either.

Reminder - must make a supply of fruit cakes for the freezer this afternoon so we have something to eat!
