I hacked to Mayhill to do the Intro B and got 66% then hacked back yay! Lovely day - I was hot in my show gear and poo picked in a t-shirt after.. Long may the weather stay like this!
I got to the yard around 10 got mucked out, then rode 1 of the YO's mares out, came back tacked up Bud and went out on a hack out with the YO and his other mare. Has been a fab day for it, we didn't want to come back.
Turned all of them out, but only 1 is naked at the moment.
I met my friend at the yard, and she and I had an awesome hack round the roads and through the forest. Then I went in the school when we got back and did some jumping - Floppy was very chilled (ie nearly asleep) today in the sun
I rode out with a lady from the yard today - most of us normally go out on our own due to working/studying weird hours, so it was nice to have some company! We had a lovely hack; small amount of roadwork, then a canter up a grassy hill, then we rode all around the back of Robbie Williams's new mansion
I had a productive day today. Rode the cob I ride and had a good schoolnig and jumping session with her. We had breaks today which was a novelty as yesterday we had none and my arms and shoulders are killing me!
Then did some work with the horse I've rebacked for the people I ride for. He was an absoloute star today. Walked round the field and up the track with no problems so I'm dead chuffed with him!
Rode this morning , first time after his winter break, was a star, some of you might know Id been having problems with him being a bit sour, today much better
desperatley wanted to but was being "photographer" at a dressage all day, then had 3 fields to completley clear and 3 horses to deal with. So whipped Darces' rug off for an hour and brought him in for a nice long groom instead
Took mine out on a hack with my neice - I rode my mare who was sound enough to get round the village and back (about 3 miles)
- she took a chunk out of her hoof wall about 3 weeks ago so has been hopping on hard ground. We had a lovely ride until the last few hundred yards when the village idiot and his son decided to gallop the other side of the hedge from us
(on fields they are not allowed on) so my 2 got a bit lively and my neice end up wobbling off!
Landed on her head and back - covered in mud but ok - no thanks to village idiot.
I think she'll be ok - she is only 13 and has just started riding my horses from her ponies - so falling of a 16hh wb is a bit of a shock after her last fall 3 years ago from a 12.2hh!!
Hacked out with a couple of friends, we were 2 arabs and a welsh D, all on their toes and boinging around. Admired the daffodils, stopped for a moment and oooohed and aaahed at a gorgeous house for sale up the lane, planned our long rides for the summer and just generally looned about in the sunshine and had a lovely time.
Then took young Scrumpy Exmoor pony for a walk out in hand, on the same route that I'd just ridden. On his toes, boinging around, spooked at the daffodils, shied at the 'house for sale' sign and asked if he could come for the long summer rides, bless his little legs.
MiZElz, my daughter will be SO jealous that you rode round by Robbie Williams house!!!!
I was up at 6.15 this morning as I wanted to give my girly a last minute clip to get rid of the horrid hairy-ness!! So was mucked out all 4, clipped the girl and out riding by 7.45. Had a lovely long ride up through the woods - where I hadn't taken my girly before - and she was having a whale (sp?? is it that kind of whale!???!) of a time spooking at the sunshine and the shadows!!!
I then clipped all 3 of our dogs when I got back - so I am thoroughly over doing clipping for the day!!!
I had a lesson at 10.30 and did some canter work then about 15-20mins jumping at end of the lesson. Trying to get back into some jumping as my mare got in the habit of broncing after the jump. But we did a 2'3 straight calmly and no broncing!! After that I bathed her and had some lunch while she munched hay in the sunshine then at 2pm we went on an hour and half hack with a couple others.
I boxed my 2 upto the Ashdown Forest for a lovely ride. The gorse has flowered and it looked so pretty. We stood on top of one of the hills and admired the view for ages.
Only went for an hour as Lilly the filly gets tired easily. An hour was too much though as it's so hilly and by the end her head was nearly dragging on the floor - poor Lilly!
She was being led, not ridden : o)
And as I got up so early this morning (very unlike me!) I had the time to spend ALL afternoon gardening - grhhhh ....I hate it!!
Went for a `supposed' 2hr hack but did it in 1hr20 coz of how up for it the horses were feeling. Had 2 excellent energetic gallops up the hills.
Got back to the stables and made the most of the sunshine. Pulled manes and trimmed feathers. Unfortunately I ended up with bad rope burn coz Gunny got a major fright when I was brushing the knots out of his mane - you know when the main tags and and makes an electric static sound?? He pulled back, broke the twine on the ring, I went and grabbed the rope and he reversed full throttle with me at the end of the rope. I should of just left him, but the gate to the field had been accidentally left open and I know we wouldnt have got him back this side of Easter
(Skin loss and blisters on hand now - hope its heals soon
