Mine started to wax up last sat, and was brought in later that evening just in case...but nothing yet! which im glad, because she isnt due for a week and a half...and i want that baby cooked!!
We did have one last night!!! Not the mare that we are getting impatient about, she shows no signs of getting a move on, but our maiden mare foaled last night as predicted. I did warn the vet when he was here to scan mares yesterday that he would be coming out to check a foal today!
Day 346. Thought last night was for def, but obviously the Code of Conduct kicked in.
However, this morning I put her out in big grassy field and started poo picking. She said she didn't want to stay out there and please could i get her in (very unusual as nothing normally comes between her and some fresh lovely grass). Milk was dripping from her teats, so maybe today?
OK so we have anywhere from 40-90 days to go.... but look - BOOBIES!!!! (I can see you all laughing - now stop it!!!
Humour the loony please!!!
)
I feel it in my waters that we'll be an early one!!!!! I know science and all that is very clever but "instinct" is keeping me happy... easily pleased dontcha know!!!
Gingermare those titties are minute. Now you wanna see big boobies? I will try and get a piccy of them this afternoon! They will fill the screen up, no doubt about that!!!!

Amelia, spill the beans on your arrivals so far.

Had two colts so far - and would adore a filly - so fingers crossed !!
Had foals by my own homebred stallion. I felt it was important to see what he brought to the 'breeding table' out of my proven performance mares (as I have a history with my mares progeny to various stallions) ..... I also think it is helpfull to be able to show people what he has produced to a given 'type' of mare, while he is away learning his trade, competed and presented for Grading .
A little bit of a risk as he's not been presented for Grading yet - but he is showing huge promise as a show jumper ..... so fingers crossed
I am waiting on Tasie who was due yesterday and needs a good vindaloo as is all but ready to roll and Abbey who is due in 3 weeks and looking like she will be early as is very jellified behind and has a HUGE bag!
mine due in a week and three days and already bagged and ready to go but no wax yet
pinkweasel i try and get some pics of ischa titties the mood shes in at the moment i will try hard
Mine has bagged up quite dramatically over this week, but still a way to go. However has really slackened on her backend the last few days too, so I reckon by next weekend hopefully we'll be meeting the new arrival
my maiden mare is on day 346, her bag was half full about 2 weeks ago has slowly filled up some more but still has room. Her backend has softened so shouldn't be too long.
I mentioned to a friend that it must be a colt as its late, and she mentioned its full moon soon so if shes waiting till then maybe I'll have to call the bloody thing Damion.
Mine are all due in June, so still a way to go. Have had one colt by Bienvenuto (Breitling/Weltmyer) who is a very smart banana, out of a mare I bought 6 weeks ago, mare is Lauries Crusader/Watzmann/Glander.
Ours is at 330 Days, it will be her 3rd foal, and her last one is 4yrs old this year. We're not sure what she did the last time as my husband bought her with the last foal at foot.
She's bagging up a lot (Would give Jordan a run for her money!!) but no sign of wax yet, definitely dropped a lot on her back end and her bump is really low too.
We've resorted to only turning her out when we are around on the farm and when we are at work someone comes to check her in the day. So if anything happens we can sort her out easily, she can be a moody mare when she wants to and I can imagine her saying bog off you're not catching me, i want to eat grass!!
Fingers crossed for her dropping this weekend, and with more warning than our maiden who popped at 333 days without any notice while we were at work!!
Well I have a little break before my next lot (thank goodness!) Four coming onto foal watch - at 321 days-ish - at the end of next week - all due the week beginning June 12 - although I expect 2 of them to come a little earlier than that.
They are:
Karina - experienced RID mare - although gave me a hard time last year with a HUGE colt as a red bag delivery.
Maggie - 4 year old RID - obviously a maiden - worried sick about her - just because she's the best filly I've ever bred and I turned down a BIG offer for her last year!
Dolly - again an experienced Mum who has twice managed to avoid me being anywhere near her when she foaled, I intend to catch her this time!! - not papered but a very nice Middleweight type.
PLUS a visiting RID mare - so that's extra worry and responsibility because she's someone else's pride and joy!
another long night for me, and still no foal. Legs are covered in milk now, and pretty much every time she moves it drips. Chucked her out in the field this morning, and have come back home for a few hours rest before i head back down again!! Now on day 351, last foal was born 352 days....
We have two more to go but they are over in Germany rather than being at home so I'm constantly on alert when the phone rings but not sleep deprived from foal watch! I'm hoping at least one more will have arrived by the time we go over next week.
Another Tobago-baby was born last night - well, at about 3.30 this morning - at Fantasiaa Arabians in Belgium... Breeder is getting some well-earned sleep atm, so all I know (from a neighbour) is that it's a chestnut filly!
This is a sister (well, half sister) to Tobago's Ambassador, the colt I've been posting so many photos of recently...I do hope the filly is as nice as him... Actually the filly is more than half sister to Ambassador, as her dam is also the dam of Ambassador's mummy!
We SHOULD have a baby by tomorrow morning - mare has been running milk now since this morning so looks good to go...(she's also nearly 2 weeks late and I'm bored of waiting for her!)
