Just curious, i saw some advent callendars for horses last year, and i was wondering how many of you will be getting your beastie a present this year?

No:eek:

I just don't tell them it is Christmas! :D

I tried that with my daughter too, unfortunately some silly sod told her about it.:(

Meeeee!!!!! Although I'm not sure what yet.

I've seen the advent calendars too. My dogs normally get a doggy advent calendar each, they know what they are and get excited when the appear in the house! I suppose if the dogs get advent calendars the horses should too..!

Teehehehehe that's really mean!! Good try though ;)

I sometimes get my ponies xmas pressies, but usually useful stuff, like mane and tail sprays, numnahs, boots/bandages. They don't have treats usually because they are little fatties :o

Also quite embarrassed to admit that I still (at 26) do an xmas day hack all covered in tinsel - last year we (me and my sister) had little bells and everything! T'was good fun but the Spanish neighbours thought we were bonkers :D :o

Oooo I will be. Let me see . . . an advent calender each for my three boys and one for my friends horse who is staying with me now.

They always have an abundance of apples and carrots so think I'm going to get some toys for them to play with, jolly balls etc. :D

No everyday is Xmas to my spoilt creature. My mum will buy him something, I have no kids so he's her 'grand horse' so she usually gets him a new rug or something.

No. He's a fatty who doesn't need treats and I've just spent £400 on a new saddle :p

He will be stabled this christmas. Maybe he can have some guinness in his food :p

Mine are totally spoilt. Not only do they each get a pressie from me but also from my parents and my OH's parents and the YO does a Santa Claus thing on Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day when we go to the yard there is a christmassy bag with a carrot, a lead rope and a couple of other things in it. She does this for all 36 horses:D

well i usually get my lot something from olympia- spoil them :p
misty's owner will be recieving a very nice browband for misty , so thats for both of them :)

No, mine won't, they should be giving me a present. They will be ridden and perhaps Fat Boy will give me some enthusiam for an hour, The Diva, could allow herself to be caught as soon as I appear without wandering off while she has a think about whether she would like to be ridden. Little Peanut Brain could decide to be a proper grown up horsey and pretend that she knows leaving the yard alone doesn't mean she will never return....
Presents ? Humbug.

Ted's having rubber mats put down in his stable- well it's a present for both of us really from my husband. Hopefully he will be more comfy and I will have less work in the mornings mucking out.

Ted will probably get some horse treats or another horselyx and some guinness in his food, and if it's cold I'll use warm water to soak his fibre beet in.

Now the lorry's in action, hopefully I can persuade dad to take us out to the forest for a boxing day ride, as well!
