Today Beauty being the thug she is broke into the tack room and ate her unsoaked mash, I don't know how much she had.

I stayed with her for as long as yard rules allow she didn't show any signs of illness , will be up there as soon as it opens. Really hope she is ok.

I am sure she will be fine greedy girl ,but yard rules wont let you stay later if you are worried about your horse.Does someone check round last thing?

I am glad the YO does a check and that should put your mind at rest too.
I often feel that people do their horse at 6pm and then they are not seen for 12 hours or more,a lot can happen in that time.
Beauty will be fine in the morning and her stable will be extra dirty:eek:

If it makes you feel any better our oldie once ate about half a sack of dried sugar beet and suffered no ill effects. He also once ate a fair bit of dried cement (again, he broke into a room) - god knows where that ended up! He lived to the ripe old age of 36 though which, considering he was quite a big horse and pretty accident prone, was quite good!

hiya, i wouldnt worry to much hun, ready mash doesnt seem to swell too much, it just goes soft. How much did she have? If you are worried about her couldnt the YO make an exeption to the rules and allow you to stay for longer? Hope your horse is ok ;)

Yup! He was a bit of a stupid horse (or maybe just crackers) and him and his donkey acomplice (spl?) would get up to all sorts and for some reason they broke into the tack room and went through my dad's building materials and a heck of alot of the dry cement mix was missing. We could only assume it had be eaten considering they had ripped open the bag!!!! Honestly, that horse had 9 lives - he also got stuck in a ditch for hours and had to be lifted out by a JCB - suffered no more than a scratch!

He sounds great! Everyone should have a donkey accomplice!
