Hay doesn't contain that many minerals so whether you soak it or not , you should feed a broad spectrum supplement (unless hard feed is fed at recommended level and that contains vits and mins)
I find balancers a bit of a con and they supply extra calories ....I prefer a powdered or pelleted supplement.

My vet told me half an hour is enough, and yes i'd feed a balancer or add a broad spectrum vit and min supplement like spillers equivite to feed
