eeek, please help. I have recently been told that you shouldnt soak hey permanently. I have been doing it for about 2 years now. My horse gets decent hay although soaked, medium quality grass, but wears a muzzle, and bailys low cal and a little bit of competition mix. I am doing anything wrong?

Who told you that?!!!!

No you aren't doing anything wrong.....I always soak hay, it is better for their digestive system

People soak hay either to reduce the number of spores in it that otherwise contribute to COPD or to reduce the number of calories the horse is eating. Or both! I'm guessing you soak your neds hay to reduce the number of calories? As long as you replace essential vits and mins and keep an eye on your neds weight/condition, I'd say it ain't broke so don't try to fix anything! x

its fine as long as you replace the lost minerals and vits via bucket feed or suppliments
