Socks that are hay/straw resistant?!

Do they exist?

Im sick of coming in and taking my wellies off and making a mess everywhere as the straw/hay goes down my boots and sticks to my socks.

I’ve tried thicker socks etc, but whatever I do they end up covered! ?

I can’t be the only one this happens to… any suggestions?

This resonates with me SO much! I use an extra pair of socks as ‘boot socks’, take them off and leave inside the wellies. That way the socks underneath are still clean for walking around the house.

I wish! I keep unintentionally washing them inside out and then turning them the right way to put on in the bathroom so it’s literally throughout the entire house ?‍
Fleece welly sock/liners help, they seem to stop bits going down in the first place or I more often do as maya says above!

These, or large over reach boots popped on over the top of boots, which is what a friend swears by!

Tho I live in my Grasmeres which seem to stop anything going in as I pull the laces tight.

Giggling at this thread, as only this morning i was using the sticky pet hair roller on my socks covered in shavings and hay, wishing for slippy socks that nothing ever sticks to!

I don't seem to have the sock problem, but hoody pockets are my bugbear. I am sick to death of pulling something out of said pocket, getting up from the sofa after a snooze, or getting changed, and releasing a little pile of hay scraps

Yes, I had some of these (or similar). I looked a bit like Wurzel Gummage but it kept the spiky bits of barley straw out of my boots.

Omg it is a total bug bear of mine as I go outside to do something with the horses often in pj's and I end up with slippers full of hay and shavings.

So I now have a pair of socks I leave with boots so my house socks can be changed when I go outside, it's time consuming though and drives me mad I also have track bottoms I pull over my pj's so they stay clean.

The things we do?

My farrier wears waterproof gaiters over his jeans that stop anything going into his boots.

Attach some over reach boots round your legs, just under your knees....the hay and straw just slides off!

I've often thought of buying a car vac and just leaving it at the back door so I can hoover myself before I go indoors.
