And i'm not talking about the pony you probably all think i am ;)

The Orange one has been being abit of a git lately. He's abit full of himself out riding and every so often shakes his head around. Not a huge problem and if I growl at him he behaves himself for a bit till he forgets and tries it on again.
On Sat it turned into a lovely afternoon so i desided to take him round the block when I got back from work. He was being a good boy and was very calm so I desided to take him onto the forest on a small loop as a treat. We trotted through the wood and as we came to the end of the track a horse trotted up another track twords home. This unsettled him a little but i soon calmed him down and we continued our ride. We got to the end of the next track and turned down the track for home we were having a lovely ride when he sudenly leaped forwards and tried to shoot off. I growled at him. I looked round and saw it was a jogger coming up behind us  I told him to grow up. Let the jogger go infront and started heading for home again. Merryn wouldn't settle. He wanted to go with the jogger and when I wouldn't let him he suddenly did a great big buck  I went flying  :o Landed on the floor infront of him still holding the reins. The words that came out my mouth once I got up I can not post on here  :o I lead him to some flatter ground, got back on and carried on home with no more problems.
Yesterday the weather was awful so I just lunged him in the school. But i'm taking him back up the forest today and i'm hoping he's lurnt his lesson. The stoopid Orange pony ;) :p :D

Oh no Laura, I hope you are ok, you are only just recovering from being knocked off your bike!

All mine are full of spring bounce, and as I am about to bring two back in to work after 3 months off, I think it could be .... interesting!

Take care, and hope to see you again soon. x

Oopsie someone is feeling good!!! Might be the spring grass, mine are all going a bit bonkers! My 12 year old was running around the field as if he was a 2 year old yesterday!

Thanks sprout. I'm not to bad. Just abit stiff and achy  It's deffinatly spring alright  :p ;) :D

I hope yours behave themselfes. Surprisingly Herbs is being quite good at the moment. But maybe I shouldn't speak to soon ;)
xx

Booboos he feels alittle to well. Prob got something to do with the horsehage he's been on aswell :o He's not had any since friday night so i'm hoping he'll be abit calmer today ;) But we'll see :p

Glad you were not badly hurt. Sounds like he can be a handfull. You got back on him after you fell off which is good. (unlike me I refused to get back on and lost my confindence.)
Good luck for today.Hope the weather is good for you!!!

I'm glad your ok! Oh dear!

Very similar situation happened to me... although on our very well-behaved gelding!

It was as if he was saying to me 'I know I always think there is something about to jump out and eat me... but this time THERE IS ACTUALLY A TIGER RUNNING AFTER ME!!!!'

Oh dear one of 'those' bucks - there is no sitting them is there :o You just get launched, give me a good old head down bronc any day

My horses get threatened with:
"I'm sending you to a riding school so you will know what hard work is"
"Ashford Market - without a reserve "
"I'm calling the hunt right now  - look at me i'm dialing the number"

Makes no difference though - they are impossible, hyped up vandals

Laura - pleased you are not badly hurt and well done for getting back on.
Spring is absolutely in the air :D:D

love the thread title!
i felt the same way on sun night, not going into the total disaster we made of the show we attended, needless to say he didnt deserve any of the rossettes we got!
spring is here!

Thanks guys. I'm glad it's not just mine. Although he was a good boy today :D. It was Herbies turn to be naughty but then that's nothing new for herbs  I'm always ready for him to be bad so he didn't manage to get me off ;) :p :D :D
