soft hooves....in the summer for christs sake

Frankie's front shoe came off yesterday, and i was having a look at his hooves and wear the shoe came off, (where it was a bit flaky) and i pushed my finger down onto the hoof and water came out of it! like a sponge!

thats not good, means crap feet and used to have good feet, no hacking out for us which is poo

can anyone recommend something for this? just to let you know he is not fed anything except hay and grass. not my choice, he doesnt belong to me. *one day he will! mwa ha ha*
