I have a pair of traditional long leather boots and because I haven't used them for years they are rigid, clean and treed but rigid.
Any ideas as to what I can use to soften them up. They are so stiff I can't even walk comfortably in them.

Just keep walking around in them (no matter how much it hurts!

I really rate Hamanol Stubbens leather stuff, that seemed to make my boots suppler, however you cant escape not wearing them in! My gran used to stuff large potatoes in her shoes to stretch them, maybe that might work with your long boots?! Dont forget to take 'em out tho!

OH is ex army, he recommends putting them on and standing in a bucket of hot water, then walk around in them all day, dry stuffed with newspaper and polish in the normal way. Water will not harm leather but don't be tempted to use heat to dry them.

Having said all that am not about to try it with some Konigs I got off ebay!
