Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a softish Dandy brush. I have one of the normal plastic bristled ones (as it is all the shops seem to stock round her), but my sensitive skinned boy objects (sometimes quite strongly

) to me using it to remove mud especially on his hindquarters.

Can anyone recommend a brand that does something posslbly with some sort of natural bristle?

Many thanks

I use one of the oster 'face' rubber curry combs to remove mud -they work really well and the horses don't object. Otherwise the flicky brushes are good, but don't really shift the mud.

I don't even own a dandy brush!

We have a few sensitive types at work, and we have to get all mud off all of them every day. The best way I find to do this is to leave it to dry, then to get either a cactus mitt or a rubber mitt (the soft ones with the tiny pimples) and gently rub it off. Not fantastically quick for thick mud, but for that thin mudpack layer they get, brilliant. Soft enough for sensitive faces too, and great for the headshy ones.

Oster stiff body brush isn't too hard. Whatever dandy brush I used on Ludo's leg's he'd complain and shuffle, stamp his feet, but with the Oster, no complaints at all even when brushing quite hard to get the mud off! Not cheap but they are very good. Recommend the mane and tail brush too.
