We have a very ticklish chestnut mare :( She really takes exception to having her legs and belly brushed and it makes it hard work. I've got a lovely, soft body brush but she's not impressed and most of the time all I can do is stroke and gently rub her legs with my hands.

Any tips? I can't avoid mud as she hunts every week and gets turnout on decent days but i'm struggling to clean her up after an outing!

Agree with Riderlizzie. We have used a variation of what she suggested for years now, and found them really good for getting all the mud off, and can be used gently round eyes and sensitive areas.

I use a cactus cloth (either just the cloth, or a mitt) for ticklish types. They seem to prefer a hand rather than a brush, I think, and the cloths are great for removing mud. They get into all the nooks and crannys, too!
