Having looked on ebay and been blinded by the choice seeking guidance.

I want to charge the electric fencing batteries at the yard to save lugging them back and forth from home. Trouble is solar panel needs to go outside so must be waterproof, any ideas?

Hi
Not sure this is much help, but l have had 2 solar battery chargers put on my lorry and they have worked a treat, lorry has started 1st time every time (previous to having them fitted lorry was a pig to start).

The ones l have are from Halfords and were about a tenner each but have done the job so sure they would work on fencing batteries

Hope this has helped a bit

Thanks for this where do you actually put them?

Hi

They are connected to the battery and the actual solar panels are just above the living windows, even in winter they have kept the battery charged enough to turn it over, it a cargo so a big engine to start.

l recon you could put a post in the ground next to the battery and mount the panels to the post and then connect the battery it would work.
l have 2 panels for my lorry battery (2 batteries) so you would prob get away with 1 panel
Sure worth a try

Hi I have just bought a solar panel , I have placed one on my shed with a 12 volt 34 Ah battery and have ample light all the time, I would recommend them, with the advent of PV panels, energy saving bulbs and led's you can get really good quality light for FREE! I went to www.solarkitsdirect.co.uk who are very good value and are also VAT free so that is 17.5% cheaper on top.. I hope this helps you..
