Please recommend me solar panel energiser to secure small paddock. It’s three tape strand but not too bothered to electrify all three but at least two.
I was looking at those. Does anyone have them? Pretty please. I’m desperate and paranoid especially now ponies are out at night.

I have a normal battery one and then a solar panel that I bought off Amazon which is on a pole and connected to the battery. It was really straightforward. You can choose the power of them; the stronger the panel, the better they are at charging.

It means that, if there is insufficient sun, I can simply re-charge the battery back to full strength.

In summer, I don't expect to have to charge it at all. In winter, I have to once every 3 months.

It just adds adaptability and means there is always a good shock.

Thanks. All my batteries are dead so I would have to buy new set up. My energiser is about to breath out the ghost so it would be financially better just to go for solar energiser.

I've got the Rutland ESS 400 and it has been great - even over the winter it kept charging. It gives a fair zap - my little Houdini pony doesn't even try to get through it!

The new solar panels are much cheaper and far more effective, and you have a choice what size kw power you can use. If you buy one of these solar energisers units I am not saying they do not work but they are not the most effective, with a separate panel you can place it in best place to catch the most sun, and if you need to hide the energiser. The buying separate components means you have more flexibility so you can replace or upgrade.

I’ve had the s16 for 8 years now. Never had a problem . And holds enough battery to last all winter without being charged. It covers a large field. It is on 24/7
