We are looking to put flood lights up on our menage but it's quite far from any electric supply so quotes are silly expensive for the wiring etc. Has anyone any recommendations for solar lights? Thanks 😊
I don't know much about solar lights sorry. But I've just bought these which are run from a lithium battery and are portable if planning is an issue http://www.right-light.co.uk/nights...-rechargeable-floodlight-16k-lithium-ion.html
I saw some on FB the other day. It was about 1300 for 6 I think. They were on poles. Looked the business. Should have saved the link but didn't!
Found it!

alternatively a strong lockable metal box with a generator inside.
Last winter I installed a single 50W LED floodlight in our 40x20m arena. It's OK for flatwork but not jumping which is what was required.
The technical bit: the floodlight (mains) is supplied by a 12V to 230V inverter running off a 90AH leisure battery topped up by a 50W solar panel through a charge controller. The inverter can be turned on at a distance (> 30m) with a remote control. All the critical bits are housed in a plastic outdoor cabinet.
The floodlight (cool white) has an output of about 4000 lumen and is mounted on a 4.8m post which can be lowered if required.
