I think quite a few people have been looking at this.. some firms will give you rent for putting them on a barn roof etc however there is some worrys over legalaties if the firm goes bust or you want to change the buiding the other way is people are buying a system and sighing up for a contract that pays about 40pence per unit so good investment and one of the reasons elctricity bills are rising so fast however as the wheels are starting to come off this as people start to realise it isnt cost effective and most people are doubtfull about the new religion and money making scam that is climate change or whatever its now called
My guess is one the feed in tarif will quitely be redused as will grants ... on the bridle path issue maybe they would need planning permission and I would think theft would be very likely if the equipment is accesble from a right of way so maybe nothting further will happen.....

There probably aren't any regulations about how close they can be sited to public rights of way (but don't quote me on that, as I'm assuming and might be wrong)

It was on Countryfile last week, that the government will be cutting it's funding and reducing the payments for electricity generated by solar farms into the national grid, and these cuts come into effect from August this year. They were saying that a lot of these solar farms (fields covered in solar panels) will now not make a big enough profit to be worth running commercially, and some companies have already started pulling investment out.

Confused as to why there should be any problem or concern about it, after all, the land doesn't belong to the public and if they have one fall on a trespasser off the ROW then they shouldn't have been underneath it in the first place;)

They aren't noisy like the wind turbines and they move so slowly that it is hardly likely to cause any upset.

Horses get used to them fast enough, most of our dairy farms have them to power their units.

I imagine as long as they don't actually impede public access then they can do what they like within planning permits. Hadn't considered theft, but as the ones i am used to are about 30' across it would be quite a job to nick one of them!

Just wondered as reflections might spook some but they have to get use to it, much worse things and I don't understand things as a thicko!
