I’m looking for 4g wi fi which runs on solar power for stables/yard that has no electricity so I can add cameras and security alerts on motion sensors. Searched Amazon but all it brings me is solar 4g cameras!

I’ve already bought one reolink camera but if I got a wi fi router 4g solar powered I could buy more cameras and security alert devices that will all link to the wi fi rather than each individually.

if anyone has such a system or items that are separate but all together work can you please post pictures or links as to what to buy?! Thank you ?

Thank you I’ll try searching for mifi on Amazon as that might bring up more options than I’m getting! ??

If stables have your house attached you can get sort of a separate router that connects to the main router and doesn't need plugging in (as far as I know, feel free to correct me anyone). It comes up as 'your wifi name EXT'. EXT for extension.

I don't know if this is an every broadband thing but we're with BT if that helps.

I use a camera and Wi-Fi powered by old mobile plugged Into solar battery. Previously a huwawei dongle into a power pack.
I have a giffgaff goody bag to 'fuel' the home set up and a smarty monthly SIM to do the other. Dongle safer as phones occasionally have temper tantrums. Only thing..sort out waterproofing...height(anti theft / but easy access) and update the cam REGULARLY. Check in often as mine always seem to have a melt down when my payment is due even tho It carrys over and comes out of my PayPal acc automatically. Any cache clear or update does the same.dongle also gets rather hot..prob less so than a phone would. Oh also..keep an eye on any cables (squirrels/birds) and power packs that aren't solar wrapped in cold or hot weather.. they last longer. Neither of my sims are contracts so I shop around every now and then.my areas are awful signal but both providers have been reliable...once you find your strong signal spot

You can power anything from solar if you have enough of it. I'm pretty sure there are solar powered cameras complete with wifi out there. Creating your own you need a camera, some form of internet dongle and power in the form of a solar panel, battery and small inverter or a powerbank designed to run on solar

I'm moving to a yard where I need a setup like this, can I ask which reolink one you have (if recommended!) and what you eventually bought? I am so very not tech savvy so hoping I can just copy what some other clever person has done!!

I purchased from Amazon and there is an offer on today! I got the 2mp which is very clear images but the 4mp is only a couple of pounds more on Amazon too. I certainly recommend it! It’s brilliant!

Make sure the SIM card you get for data the network has a good signal at the yard. I have the Vodafone v-sim (smart sim I think it’s called now?) seems to be hard to get but I have seen them on Amazon and it’s £4 a month unlimited data.

Good luck with the move! 66D64362-530A-4D67-8B9E-B3E6755B8B5F.jpeg

I’ve got the Reolink Go with a solar panel but the camera battery lasts ages so it’s just as easy to take the battery home occasionally and recharge. Good if it’s hard to find a good position for a solar panel. Also got a Vodafone Sim but as above difficult to find now. There are other sims and you need to check your local coverage anyway.
