We have no electricity at the yard hence in need of solar powered floodlights for the arena. Looing there are many different types avaiable and it's hard to tell which will do the job the best. Does anyon have any recommendations/used a similar setup for arena lighting? Any experiences appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I would think your budget will be into thousands if you want a decent amount of light!!
The cheepest way would be some halogen lights on telegraph poles and a generator say about £500 +putting some poles up..

sorry to hi-jack - just a quick q about arena lights - we have electricity and are putting planning permission in for 4 columns with 2 floodlights on each. (2 columns down each long side)

I'd like to invest in LED lights - anyone know what size they would need to be? the columns will be 6-8m high

thanks,

and sorry OP - the only help I could suggest is you invest in one of those road side workers generators and floodlight systems - they are amazing!

We used these.... far greener than most floodlights AND less obtrusive. We have 3 down the long side on each side of our arena and they are AWESOME. We jump and school under them no problem at all.

They are on scaffold poles and are cable tied to the arena fencing. The bulbs have lasted 9 years and are still going strong.

They do need electricity though (sorry OP ! )
