Hi, am thinking of buying a new energiser and was wondering about the solar ones (Rutland ESS610) for my fencing but can not find any feedback on them so does anyone use solar energisers and if so without breaking the bank, does anyone have any recommendations or do I go with the energiser and leisure/car battery option. Am only charging one strand of fencing approx. 400 - 500 metres.

Thank you :)

I have a normal energiser/leisure battery set up, but have also added a trickle charging solar panel to the battery. It SEEMS to make the battery last longer, but very hard to measure.

Yes have that set up at the moment on one of my fields but I don't know if my trickle solar panel adds to the charging, it was not very expensive so could be no good. I need to buy another energiser to replace a broken one and am fed up of lugging / charging batteries to and from home to livery yard so was just wondering if the solar energisers work as well as it would save a job - am turning lazy :)

I bought a Hotline Helios a couple of weeks ago. Since I started using it it has been mainly cloudy and seems to be doing the job well. I power about 600m of fence from it.
