I use Gallaghers and I have one Rutland as well I’m just wondering if anyone can recommend a good quality one. In winter without the sun I’m aware I keep having to charge every couple of weeks so fancy another to add to the rotation. Cheers

I've a Hotline one that seems to manage well. Winter before last it needed charged every couple of weeks as it was grey or rained continuously. Last winter was much better weather wise and I didn't need to charge it once.

I've got a kiwikit solar powered unit. It's designed to keep cattle in and packs a serious punch
it has a small battery inside which lasts approximately a year of continuous use. Last time I replaced it, the battery was about £28.
The only time it's failed me was when it was under snow for a period of

I’ve got a gallagher s20 and leave it on 24/7 in winter and never had to charge mine.

It has a backup battery in it **just in case**. I know 3 people with my model and never have to charge there’s either.

Is yours facing the sun?

I need to make sure I’ve got a s100, s40, s16 and a s10 and the Rutland ess610. The Rutland thinking about it I’ve never had to recharge. And I only started to recharge when the guy in Chelford farm supplies told me I had to as I asked him about my s10 that isn’t working. I think I need to buy a really good tester so I know exactly what charge I’m getting not just it’s working. I’ve also got a few of those shitty small ones they have on Amazon for £65 just to see how good they are, they were ok. Uk going to point everything at the sun! Cheers ?
