Just a breif overveiw of situation. 6 months ago i sold a lovely horse to a woman. she tried him (after 5 weeks off) he was a saint. She bought him, over a month down the line they were great (i have the text messages) saying they were out competing! Next thing someone hammering on the door (under the influence) saying i've sold them a dangerous monster and if i do not give them their money back my name will be mud and they intend to park the horse on my doorstep and have him shot!! any thoughts/ past experiences welcome.

Just tell them to #### off. to long a time has come & gone.

When you sell a horse / car or any item I allways put on the reciept
Sold without any warranties offered or implied & not asked for & with all or any faults .
If they dont like it i dont sell them the item no one has backed out yet & i have had no problems in 40 years.

Was it the buyer that knocked on the door? If not I would call them to ask that they keep the person away and state firmly that you don't know whether the person was exaggerating but regardless you cannot be expected to rake back the horse after six months

It could be that there actually isn't a problem with the horse and a domestic/throwaway comment has been taken out of context

Nip it in the bud if you can

From a legal point of view, it seems unlikely that they have a leg to stand on.

I suppose what action you take depends on whether you're concerned about what has gone wrong for the horse and it's future.

Welsh D - Yes buyer and friends!! Quite threatening, but I don't think they will be back. I told them to stop harassing me and speak via solicitors as they are adamant it's going to court & I have absolutely nothing to hide!:)

Horserider - Of course i am concerned for him, however just not in the position to take him back. Offered them the chance to fetch him for me to sit on - no such luck just abuse, personally think they are tryin their luck.
