There is a garage near it lol I know that, but only been there about 3 times.

4 Ashes Rd, Solihull

Solihull Riding Club is situated one mile from A3400, equidistant from Hockley Heath and junction 4 on the M42. Leave the motorway in the direction of Stratford-on-Avon.
Take the second turning (Box Trees Road) at the island of the TOTAL garage (used to be a Fina)
Solihull Riding Club is approximately one mile on the left, past the Drum & Monkey pub and before the bridge

Ah!!!! The other map I had did not show this "slip" road off it.... now I can see it!!

Phew!!! It was getting very frustrating!! Thanks! (I have to get exact directions as hubby drives the truck)... god help me if I have not got EXACT directions... now I can tell him how many trees it is from the motorway!!

Te he!!

there is a quicker back way to it before the petrol station on the left! DONT go down it! it can barely take a car let alone a lorry, or trailer!! u'll get stuck! lol

There are 2 hotels nearby:
Hockley Heath Travel Inn (2 miles) 08701 977230
Hogarths Hotel (on- site) 01564 779988
Solihull Tourist Information 0121 7046130 - will have info on any hotels/B&B's.

In the horsebox........in the horsebox......? Lucky you, last time I went we slept in the trailer.

It was FREEZING and the noise from the motorway kept us awake most of the night.

I think I'll be joining you in the search for a B&B this year! Trouble is, I don't like to not be onsite when leaving my horse in those temporary stables. Nothing has ever happened but you never know....

Banananman , Our horsebox is borrowed, it is Huge HGV but NO LIVING luxuries just a space and our blow up bed!!! , no heating... we stayed at Patchetts a couple of weeks ago and FROZE...

brrrrrrrr we had our clothes on, douvet, blanket and even my boys spare rugs luckily just cleaned!!..(my hubby has a bald head and even took to wearing my pink furry hat.. no telling!!)
ooo.gif
. I woke up every 2 -3 hours gagging for a hot drink to warm me up... I had to go to the ladies to heat myself up under the dryer!!! Maybe we should have a camp site and fire and a bottle or two to keep us all warm!!! (Hot water bottle I meant!) LOL

Ok, OK I'll let you off!!!!

PMSL at your OH in your pink hat.........good job he didn't have to get out to the loo and forget what was on his head! Mind you, when it's that cold.....who cares?!

The on site stables from memory are just like all the other temporary boxes.........
tiny.

My boy that I competed there last time is nearly 17h and luckily he's pretty placid.

A friend has a 17.1 ShirexWarmblood that has a tendancy to walk of wearing the stable door like a necklace!!!!

There are usually some bigger more substantial stallion boxes available but I doubt they'd let them go to a gelding. You'll just have to ask your boy to breathe in!

Oh dear!! Maybe I should book him into the hotel!! My horse I mean and my hubby...I'll take the stable...!!!Ah well, one night ...what are you doing?? I am just doing the prelim... unless a wildcard comes my way!!! Be there Saturday, be nice to put a face to the e-mails!!

Nope, I called the BD as I needed to book time off work, I am on Sat, and IF I get a wild card Novice is on Frid. All I know is that it starts on Wed! Sorry!! But our mag should be out soon

Good luck to you both - might be joining you if I get through the regionals in two weeks.

Let me know when your times are as I'll come and watch anyway even if I don't get through.....

i stayed in the Hogarths, along with our two dogs and my mum last year at the winters! It was FAB! yup it was expensive, but we had a brilliant time. The food and breakfasts were gorgeous!

Everyone i spoke to who slept in their lorries said it was freezing. It gets booked up very early for the Winters tho. They were taking bookings last year when we were there for this year!!

Parisienne_girl, its sound very tempting.... did they not mind you take your dogs, horsey stuff and possibly looking dirty/smelling of horses????
shocked.gif
