Hi all,

Have looked through a few threads on Solution Saddles and most of the comments are good, although they are generally from riders with 'rounder' horses! I have the opportunity to have a fitter come out and try their range on my Tb and wondered if anyone had any experiences of them?

I've been thinking a lot about what I'd like to do in the future and think having a go at a local RoR class, working hunter and maybe very low level XC would be fun. Also fancy Endurance but that is a long way off! I'm guessing a GP would enable us to have a go at everything and with the interchangeable knee blocks I can switch between disciplines a bit more. Also I like the idea of being able to shim the same saddle to fit his ever changing shape throughout his training and in the future.

So...good or bad? Should I try them and see? The price tag is huge for us so it has to be worth it!

I like them. I have a GP, which I've used for Hunting, XC, SJ, Dressage, hacking etc etc. I've just bought some jumping blocks to give me more security when jumping and hunting.

I jump decent hedges out hunting 5ft ish and never worry about it slipping, I just use a breastplate with it.

I use it for both of mine, one Connie and one Welsh DxTB so they're quite different shapes but it works equally well for both of them :) They just have a pad each and then I pop my saddle on.

My tackroom now houses three Solution Saddles, one Smart Close Contact Supra-bloc Dressage and two Original Solution GPs (so me and mum can hack and hunt together). I'm happy but my Bank Balance not so. They do however, do a very affordable twelve month payment plan which my most recent purchase is on.

I wouldn't be without them now they're wonderful :)

I'm afraid I'm part of the cobby clan - and I posted a similar thread last week, but having had a Smart GP on trial for the past week, I am fully sold... amazing saddles, just a shame the price tag isn't a little easier on the bank balance! If you're considering one, have a rep out and trial it aswell. If you end up buying one the trial price comes off the saddle price, and it let's you play about with them, get your position right and see how they go :)
