Some adverts make you cringe.....

...but,think on, are you considering viewing the horse?

Or the tack, the rider, the seller's ability to word an advert, or to choose suitable photographs, their yard, their jumps, their opinions?

Who cares about all that, you aren't going to be taking any of it home with you;)

What's that old adage, "never judge a book by the cover"? Applies to all things, horses included.

To be put off by a photo is possibly to miss a diamond. I look at the ad and it tells me that the horse is bay, it can get from one side of a jump to another, it is a certain gender, a certain height and that body parts are all in the places they are meant to be. Anything else I can find out later.

I don't give a stuff about anything apart from the horse as it stands in front of me on the day I go to see it. To my mind, the more people put off means that I could possibly get a good horse for less money :D

Think of it this way, the horse is still going forward despite the best efforts of the rider and choice of tack, probably a good horse!

I think that sometimes it shows how honest the horse is and what could she do with a different rider

Me likey (the horse) if she jumps like that now think how good she could be! Is she being jumped in draw reins in the last few pics though???

poor mare!
Bloody hell! Get off your precious perfect pedestal before the weight of your head overbalances you. Do you know the horse? The seller? They may even be a member of this forum.

So...someone get out and buy her and rescue her from her abusive home. As you can so clearly see she is being jabbed in the mouth, is in every gadget under the sun, nothing but skin and bones, looks totally miserable ...NOT!

^^ like and agree

It must be so wonderful to be absolutely perfect in every way, don't you think?

tbh, if I were looking I'd be temped to go and have a look, horse looks happy, and in good condition, riders position leaves a bit to be desired but it shows the horse in horse in a good light :)

looks like an nice honest sort of horse in reasonable condition being ridden in a fairly mediocre but not appalling way fromt he quick glance I had.

None of the above - BUT she's being ridden by someone who seems to think its 'cool' to jump at home in a hat with the harness fastened over the top rather than where it'll keep the damn thing on if it all goes pear shaped and who uses spurs and draw reins as a substitute for lessons - and even if they were a member of this forum i'd tell them that!

I echo whats been said before though that she looks a nice sort and someone may well spot a diamond in the rough but in todays market bad pics and text won't encourage people to look at an ad.

At least it shows a whole horse, my pet hates are adverts with a useful photo of the horse asleep in the field, another with half a head sticking over the stable door, followed by a lovely shot of it dressed up in rugs and travel boots :D

I think she looks an honest sort of horse with a good jump in her, willing to try. I would go & look if I was in the market. The wording & spelling are no worse than often appears on this site !!

Geeeeeez that did make me cringe! Lol I HATE text language in anything other than a text, doesn't look very professional. The rider however....not the best I've seen :p but everyone has their own style ey! We can't all be like the top riders...it did make me giggle a bit when they said "she makes you feel like a good rider" - I want one of those! Lol :D

yep, some adverts do make me cringe but this one to me shows a perfectly genuine looking horse.

As someone else said, the ones that pee me off are the ones who show their horse lying down, covered in rugs, just a head shot, out of focus, or the latest one was a coloured stood in front of another coloured (side on) and you couldn't work out where one horse ended and the other began!!
