Some adverts make you cringe.....

I can see nothing cringe worthy in the ad or the photos. Okay, rider position isn't perfect but who's is and Ive seen worse at local and county shows. No, its not ideal to jump in side reins but not the end of the world and as for the hat, its up to the rider once of an adult age. The mare looks in very good condition and willing so what was the point of the op? I hate bitching for bitchings sake, takes the fun out of real bitching ;)
PS, I know exactly what advertiser means, I had a horse who made me feel like a good rider. It means you have a gem of a horse :)

None of the above - BUT she's being ridden by someone who seems to think its 'cool' to jump at home in a hat with the harness fastened over the top rather than where it'll keep the damn thing on if it all goes pear shaped and who uses spurs and draw reins as a substitute for lessonsBut so what, the rider has a choice, you are viewing the horse not the rider, and once you get a horse home none of it matters really anyway - and even if they were a member of this forum i'd tell them that! To what purpose  You'd have a field day if you were a fly on the wall at some pro SJ'ers schooling sessions then ;)

I echo whats been said before though that she looks a nice sort and someone may well spot a diamond in the rough but in todays market bad pics and text won't encourage people to look at an ad.

But someone who can see the wider picture beyond the photo is possibly going to get a nice sort of horse at a bargain price. Certainly wouldn't stop me going to see her if she ticked the other boxes.

Oh come on, it's not that bad, seen worse at a lot of yards.

Of course! Brilliant marketing then ;):D

I must try that, put up a link to my ads, slag them off and maybe, someone looking to see what the fuss about will come and buy!

I agree but when you see someone like that the horse obviously made it over the jump so there is some hope!

I do prefer the bare chested male, no riding hat with added pot belly ads myself...

Enfys put it perfectly on the first page. A horse that will jump fences with a rider who sits like that is a horse that will jump ANYTHING with a rider who sits more balanced.

However, can't help but thinking the draw reins may be needed cause of her running away from the awful position? ;)
