After sending my membership on monday I got my login details emailed to me today, very impressed with the speed!

After looking through some results I have a few questions

- How are points allocated is it based on placings/number of starters/ the % you scored??

- Do you only get points at Novice level and above?

- Is it worth me doing Prelims and if so what should I aim at qualifying for and how do I go about that?

- once you have points can you no longer compete at prelim?

And finally

- what colour stock should you wear? mine is navy is that ok?

Thanks in advance, any other info you think I should know would be greatly appriciated!

You get points at Novice level and above and it goes on %. so over 60%-1 point, the ( I think )it's 62%-2 points etc.

As for what level you should compete and well that depends on your horses level of training really

You can aim to qualify for the Area Festivals from any level from 1 Jan, you just need 2 x sheets over 62% and Prelim/Novice to qualify.

You can compete at Prelim with less than 14 points (I think)

Navy stock is fine

Great Thanks, He is working at Novice/Elementary level at home and scoring approx 65 -70% at Novice BE. Joined BD as I want to get more out of the dressage and practice over the winter, as I know nothing about BD was just wondering what my plan of action should be

Think prelim is up to 49 points. If you have not done be before you will be a group 8 rider but if you have been placed in BE at intermed. I think that counts aginst you. Enter prelim rest. and then if you win two qualifiers [ may still be 1st or 2nd in one] you can do regionals.

Thanks for the post CF, just sent off for mine too and been browsing the BD site - it's very confusing so this helps!!!

i sent off for mine Monday too, not got sent anything yet

i'm sure it's on the way.
was looking at schedules for venues near me and it seems hardly any of them have prelims, that solves my debate as the whether to start at novice or prelim then!!

make sureyou enter the restricted section as this is for new /amatuer riders. once you have i believe 12 points at the next level you can no longer enter the lower one

Thanks MM, yes it is confusing!

AR you should get yours soon, my number holder arrived in the post today too. Yes easy decision for you, my local center has Prelim before the novice classes so harder to decide!
