Well what can I say today hasn't quite gone to plan, thought I'd have a quick hack around the block, started to tack pony up and realised I'd left her bridle hanging on the back of the kitchen door, so me being creative took mini shetland pony's apart and made do. (only just fit on the last holes) Then half way round I realised the reflective wraps and hi viz jacket that I put next to my pony to put on must be on the gate where id left them as they weren't on us!! I feel so cross with myself, my pony is bay and I had dark clothes on, usually I'm so organised.

If I had a penny for every 'off' day I had I would be a millionaire! Give yourself a break! I've had someone come to view a horse before and realised I left the saddle at home and didn't have another to even slightly fit, that was rather embaressing! My friend recently turned up for a fun ride miles from home and realised her daughter didn't have her riding hat! Fun times! Haha

I forgot my Horse the other day. Tied her up outside the barn for a tail wash. Got distracted did all of my jobs, went to the kitchen and sat in there for a while chatting. Then suddenly realised I'd left her outside tied up. Luckily she's a good girl!

Last dressage comp I went to I'd left my girth at home in the kitchen.

The last lessson I went to outside of the livery yard, I didn't properly latch the jockey door on the trailer, had to pull over when it flew open.

I've also gone for a walk and left my horse sans headcoller at a tie up point (was at a riding stables at the time, it was totally normal to tie up and leave your horse unattended there, I know better now!), only realised 10mins into the walk. Thankfully he was still in the same spot when I got back!

I shouldn't be allowed to leave the yard with my horse! 😂

I drove back from a beach ride with the tack door of the trailer open. Properly wide open. No idea how everything stayed in place!

We all have 'absent mind' days :-)

Mounted pony the other day. Luckily friend was with me and kindly pointed out that it may be best if I had my hat on! Oops!

Yes I did this the other day too! Got on my horse with plan to do a couple of jumps after OH had had a little ride on him.

I thought 'better go fetch my hat' then thought 'better tie my hair up first'. Tied my hair up OH presented horse and I forgot to fetch the hat. I mounted and he said 'don't you think you need something else?' and I couldn't think what it was :D :D

Don't worry we all have those days!

I was tacking up my mare once, someone called me, answererd the phone, put it down, went to the arena.

Did an entire schooling session of lateral work, walk, trot, canter, poles. Really a good workout.

Now it was mid summer and as we were cooling down I thought, ooh this new hat is good, my head isn't sweaty, I won't get fringe sweat! Went to check with my hand, hat isn't there.

Must be mistaken I thought.. checked in the mirror, NO HAT!!! :D

Now I am usually a stickler for hat wearing but that call just completely distracted me and I did a good 45 minute schooling session minus my hat!

We all have "one of those days". :D

I managed to get half a mile up the road without my hat on a few years ago. It wouldn't have been so bad but my friend riding with me didn't notice either!

I drove 20 miles homes with my brand new, going out for best leather girth on the wheel arch of the trailer. Amazingly it was still there when I got back to the yard.
