...and today is one of those days
I've had my chestnutter for nearly 5 years, he was 6 when i got him and was well handled but unbroken. long story short because of a couple of issues he had with things like lunge lines and some personal stuff for me he was backed 3 years ago but not really done anything since
Anyway since having my sharer come help which has given me more time and more inclination to do stuff we've got him going again and it seems the time off has not had an adverse effect
Today he has given me the biggest proud mum grin ever lol, he hacked out on the road for the first time and was a super star
He had a bit of a dither at the stream on the farm and again at the cattle grid gate but the traffic didn't phase him, the copper chopper flying over didn't bother him and even the super hi-vizzed cyclist raised no more than an eyebrow
The dead badger did cause some concern and an open gate a bit of confusion but there were no tantrums or threats to head for the hills so i am one happy girl
Ok so it may have taken us a long time to get here but today he proved that the patience has been worth it and all that time spent getting him to trust me was time well spent
