Also in NW but not many responses so hoping someone in here may be able to help.

Hoping someone on here may be able to help. My horse needs some form of "treatment" every six weeks. I'm not going into the details of it, but she does and the stretches I do with her are simply not enough.

I would ideally like to find a local therapist that isn't going to charge me a fortune, as put quite simply, I can't really afford for the physio to be coming out every six weeks.

Any form of therapist will do what I need, perhaps barring a reiki person and an osteopath (she's seen an osteo before and they couldn't do anything with her).

Any recommendations much appreviated, but need to be near above areas to prevent too much travelling costs

I think most of the therapists charge much the same, none are really cheap and you get what you pay for generally or they are less effective so require doing more frequently, my physio has shown me far more than just basic stretches, a simple massage is not hard to learn to do yourself, strapping daily is beneficial and not done much now, possibly why more horses have muscular problems.
Ask your physio to show you where the target areas are what exercises are more appropriate and see if you can save money by doing more yourself, you are unlikely to do any harm as you will not be going in deep but it may well be enough combined with correct work to reduce the physio visits.

Doing stuff myself is not enough, I have already tried that route.

It's not so much the fact of the cost of the treatment, but the cost of the travel hence why I want someone as local as possible.

Check out the ACPAT website and see if there is anyone local on there?

I've used Annabel Roberts before, she is very good.
