Just got this email off my friend:

"Well i'm doing a press release on 2010 Bramham International Horse trials, and my audience would be readers of high end newspaper like guardian and independant, but i'm not sure what to write apart from repeat what 2009 said and add a few the cross country course will be better than ever though not in those words and i'm proper stressing out about it and cant find a way to promote this event

She's not horsey at all. And unfortunately i am no use at all, having not read last years, or ever been to a big event like this, or knowing who is riding. I've told her to look at what the riders have been up to, and find out what stalls will be there. I also have nooo idea about press releases. I assume this is for uni as i know nothing of her being involved with anything like this.

So does anyone have any suggestions i could pass along? Thinking hats at the ready! And lots of cookies!

Thank you lovely, beautiful, wonderful HHO-ers (a bit of sucking up never hurt anyone

your friend could highlight the fact that Bramham has a new course designer next year Sue Benson is stepping down (hooray) to concentrate on 2012 olympics (not sure about that) and Ian Stark is taking over the reins at Bramham looking forward to seeing what he designs

Make sure to include:

Who, Where, What, When and How. i.e. talk about who will be competing/ designing course etc, where the event is, what will be taking place, when it is and how to get tickets. Put the most important info at the top of the release and think of a good heading.

Hope that helps.
