Ive just been to see a horse for loan after being told by the owner how it excels at everything, didn't quite believe her as its only 7. Anyhows gets there to find it desperatley under weight with no top line whatso-ever and hoping lame!! Id spoken in depth before I went and told her that I wanted something I could get out and do BRC teams and Intro/Pre-Novice with. She said it had evented with BE. Needless to say I didn't ride it and it also has a nasty sore on its face which I imagine is from its head collar, have done my research on ts name and its never been at a BE comp and only came off the race track this year.
Poor mite I hope it gets sorted soon, have adviced her to sort its lameness out before she lats anyone else come and see it. It was also smaller than what she said to.
And they call the loanees times wasters!!

If you had no clue about horses, just had a few lessons and couldnt see a lame horse from a mm away!
 
Obviously either desperate to find someone (anyone) and hoped they didnt notice she was lame OR is a complete numpty timewater who didnt even notice herself!
 
totaly agree with your frustration - although this week i am the 'other side' wanted sharer one day a week for my new pony - lady was advertising - we spoke at lenght on telephone and e mail about how things could be manovered around her only wanting to come to the yrd once on her day. she came on Monday evening with her 2 daughters they all came into the satble brushing and picking feet up at the same time - pony was a bit flustered but behaved perfectly - tacked him up she rode him daughter rode him he was beautifully behaved as he is very well schooled lovely to hack ect ect. i was there 2 hours showing her round ect. she call me the next evening to say she has decided not to share - me thinks she is just a 'free rider' !!!! Really P***sed about the waste of mine and ponys time. Any way its done me afavour coz ive decided not to have a sharer now - too much hassle!
 
On sharers: it is becoming abundantly apparent to me that people never look after your horse as well as you do. We had a girl up on our yard who couldn't afford her own horse and her loan agreement then went pear-shaped. Some of us felt badly for her, as she was not a bad little rider, and I offered her the mare for occasional hacks and lessons. The deal was, on the afternoons she rode, she would muck out, turn out / put to bed and make everything ready for me in the morning.
I had to tactfully put an end to the arrangement eventually. I would get up to the yard to find her bed not done, her hay not filled, my tack put away with the stirrups over the seat of the saddle, everything in a mess. And then someone told me that she had absolutely walloped the mare for making a face while she did up her girth. That was the last straw.
Now, the only person who rides the mare is me (and my instructor). No more sharing. She's my baby - far too precious. And so is my sanity!
