Definitely no foalie due tonight... Still no waxing up (now I know what I am looking for) and not running any milk yet either. I think she is well on target for her due date, at least I hope she is!

This one shows how swollen the whole area around her bag is, even up her tummy and all the way to her hind leg:

OOOOO looks like that's one big foalie in there Becki.

I soooo cannot wait. Are you going to open a wager as to what she has?

I'm going for a filly next Wednesday 28th Feb. (it's my niece's birthday)

She is looking so well. Its soooo exciting for me but I bet your just beside yourself with excitement at the moment. I know I would be. Can't wait to see piccies of baby hannah.

i'm still a novice to some on here so only saying what i've been told but the seam down the belly is her milk seam and the foal looks to have moved towards the back of her tummy so not too long to go.
agree with weezy a back end shot of her quarters would be good.

i'm sure she will be fine what ever happens good luck.
she may look huge but i always hope that's loads of water which may help baby woosh out.LOL

Yup, know what you mean. Never had a mare foal but when our cows are due, we call the engorgement you describe "hogging".

I too have read you blog its lovely to see Hannah's progression.
What colour do I think..? Hmmm bright bay with a white star! Filly..dont know when - lets say on her due date!

Aw thank you... I ahve tried to keep both Hannah's and Grace's going!

I read all through Hannah's a few weeks ago and I couldn't stop crying for some silly reason! I found it very emotional and just blubbered my way through it with my husband thinking I had seriously lost the plot

It is actually chopped straw that she is on... She is a very messy and wet mare (I have had her on straw before and it was unbarable, plus I get a horrendous rash from straw) so I needed to find something more suitable.

Also, the straw we get at the yard is very very dusty which I did not think would be good for either Hannah or the foal. Someone pointed me towards Nedz Bedz and I am very happy with it so far. It is easy to deal with, creates lovely solid bankings and smells lovely and fresh even at the end of the week when a full muck out is required.
