Just some general questions on phrases, what they mean, etc, as I start to learn a new "lingo" for horses in the UK ( so true that the USA and UK are separated by a common language!) When a horse is described as "good to do"-- what exactly does that mean? My sense is that it means the horse is easy to handle, for the every day sorts of things you would have to do on the ground, i.e. catch, clean hooves, groom, clip, etc. Is that even close to right?
I am fascinated but very unclued in about hunting. When does the season run, what do you do if you would be interested in riding with a local hunt-- i.e., who to contact? What are the rules for what to wear, how to equip your horse?
Any info gratefully received!
