I bought my mare yesterday and last night was looking through her blood lines and it turns out that her Grandfathers were both the Famous race horses Northern Dancer and Nijinsky. How exciting is that, Cant find out much about her mother only that she was a grade C Show jumper.
So just had to tell some ppl who would appreciate it or atleast know what am on about lol

yea they dont know much about her other than shes registered Bsja and grade C I have emailed bsja this mornings awaiting responce.

That is exciting stuff!! Although not quite as exciting as your mares the girly in my sig is Northern Dancer/Saddlers Wells lines aswell!!

Oooh yay, you got her then!!

My ex racer is out of Distinctly North who's sire was Northern Dancer, very good looking bloodlines!!

Check out all breed pedigree.com and you will be prob be able to trace her racing lines right back to early 1900's inc pics!

yes I am not the offical owner and found out that shes half Tb (which I knew anyway) and the other half is Sport horse her mother has won money at Bsja but the only way I have found to get her mothers record is to pay £10 for it but there must be another way.
Plus she has a foal when she was 4 with a top dressage stallion but can remember the name

It's really exciting finding this stuff out isn't it!

I was over the moon when I discovered my mare had Eclipse, War Admiral and Man o War in her lines.

You wouldn;t think it though, she's a bit of a slug lol!

thats exciting. I do love chasing this stuff up and U I want pics. But if shes to have her fathers sides speed and her mothers jumping ability hopefully I can do a little eventing.Well see.

ha ha found out some more her mother was a Flea bitten grey and was from Ireland and I know her owners name, last competed in 2000 at British Novice

I did this for my old section D, and got back to 5 generations. He had two of the most famous Section D stallions in his breeding. Unfortunately one appeared 3 times and the other 4. I knew there was a reason he was mentally unbalanced, it's all the inbreeeding!

FWIW all three of my horses have Northern Dancer (some several times!) and they vary from a 15hh AA mare, through a 16.2 KWPN to a 16.3 3/4 TB, 1/4 shire whose grandsire was Nijinsky and who features War Admiral on her granddam's side as well.
