Some sad news about duke :(

Duke a horse I used to ride for my yard owners have had some sad news!

He has got a serious infection in his sheath (+other parts), came on quite rappidly and anitbiotics are not working! Seems the only option for him is amputaion and then reconstructive surgery to enable him to pass urine.

It would cost thousands so im told and they feel that his quality of life wouldnt be the same, so he is sadly being put to sleep tomorrow

He is such a handsome, kind chap and will be sadly missed!


Any spair hugs for yard owners and poor dukey wouldnt go a miss

Shame they don't maybe have insurance as we have had cases of these on our claims books that have been treated successfully following amputation/partial amputation.

Horrible thing to happen, must be an awful shock and a very hard decision
