A very kind friend took these pictures at the Trakehner breed show recently and I thought they were lovely head shots so wanted to share.
Elf (Tycoon x Consul) is a 4yo who went for grading and Tia is her filly by latimer.
Elf passed her grading so misson accomplished and Tia was 3rd in her foal class, and the graders made some very nice comments about her and about the stallion choice I made. I also got very good feed back on Elf's strengths and weaknesses (I did ask for it warts and all) which was areas I had highlighted anyway, so god to know we were looking at the same things. And had a discussion on stallion choices for the future, so it was very useful.
For me that is the purpose of a grading. To have your mare inspected into the stud book, yes, but also to get some feedback on what you need to focus on as a breeder to make the right breeding choices for the future. We'll see if I made the right choice this time come May 2009!
