She was loved, she knew that, she was receiving the best of care, she probably knew that too, but best of all, she went with dignity and in her own time.
I understand that you can't rejoice, but if you can see things from the girl's viewpoint, then I'd suggest that she'd call that a result.
It was H Frank Wallace, who in his book Happier Years, said "I wonder if the pleasure of owning dogs, is worth the pain of parting", and he wouldn't be alone in that. A difficult day for you, I understand.
I'm so shocked, and saddened that you lost her...
You loved her with all your heart, and I'm so, so sad and sorry she didn't make it home.
Sending you massive hugs xx
I am so so sorry to read this. Alec has put it perfectly, in time the pain will fade and you will be able to look back and enjoy the happy memories, but it hurts so much.
Oh so sorry and another one who thought Alec's post was so fitting. You did everything and she looked to have been one of a very few lucky dogs who only ever know the best in humans.
I am so sorry for your loss. Please take comfort in that you were such a kind and loving owner. She was blessed to have you and was positively beautiful. Think of the happy times
thankyou all its been a rough couple of days. she was definitly loved to pieces and never wanted for anything . everyone who knew her loved her and she'd already formed a fan club at the specalists that was just holly. she was so sweet and just assumed everyone loved her hehehe. shes definitly leaving behind a huge hole.
Was reading through the thread, all hopeful then bang, blow to the solar plexus, she's gone. Massive hugs for you, I'm bawling here You poor thing. Please look after yourself at this awful time.
Thankyou all for your kind words, as I've said before, she meant the world to me. I cannot thank my friend enough, she has just driven me all the way to Eastleigh so I could finally say goodbye. I know it's only a body but I just couldn't reconcile myself with the fact I wasn't with her when she died. She'll be coming home tomorrow. Thankyou alec for that lovely quote, it rings so true
I hope you manage to take comfort from the fact that there are a lot of people on this board who know exactly what you are going through. Our dogs leave a big hole when they leave us but oh they enrich our lives when they are with us.
