To balance this thread- Fynn (my Vizsla) and I were training with the local HPR club on Sunday and Fynn was a nightmare! When we met and were walking to the training area he was pulling, trying to greet the other dogs, just wouldn't walk properly on the lead. While waiting for his turn he wouldn't sit still, he was so wound up. Every thrown dummy, every shot made him worse. His turn came and instead of hunting he scurried back to the other dogs and jumped all over them! The trainer got a dummy out and Fynn broke from his sit to run over to the trainer and jumped at him (luckily the trainer had lots of patience
)
One of the trainers took Fynn and I well away from the group to do some solo hunting- I set him off and WOW! he covered the ground like a good'un until we realised he was hunting towards the other dogs- sneaky *********
still it gave me the chance to do a couple of remote stops and recalls
On a huge plus point his retrieves, both blind and sighted were text book
Who'ed train a dog we must be daft
