Son saw a lovely quarter horse , stocky built, 15.3 cross appy...' mum, look at this gelding he is lush'
No..no..no..
You agreed no horses while in uni...
so people.. please remind me, or poke me with a cattle prod, to remind me I do not need to start looking after another horse while son is away in uni.
I will not relent....I will not go all squiffy over a QH appy cross...

Maybe you are looking at the whole thing from the wrong point of view, instead of asking if you need the horse maybe you should ask if the horse needs you, oh and I think that could be a 'yes' lol

Ahem. *Boring voice of reason alert*

I am mid 55's wrong side if you understand, my son went to uni this sept, and I knew I would be left looking after horse through winter, so knowing I would not be able to without help he agreed to sell her in may, she went to a friend and is teaching another teenager to do her stuff playing Polocrosse, and has gone super well for us all.. I had to do it, as suffering hip arthritis, and pushing barrows of poo through mud and snow I know I would not have been able.. it all depends how fit one is...

Bit of an end of an era year for me..
I am now horseless after last horse was sold and son went to uni
No more Polocrosse ...no more lorry driving to rugby, midlands, Yorkshire, and local comps.
Sold all the horsey stuff except best bridle and a rug that was sashays
Prize for a best horse.
So I've had since may with no horses...bo hoo
But I sure don't miss it on
Cold wet winter mornings, or poo picking with a head torch

Just a reminder to temper your understandable hankering to enquire after this horse. Would the lion's share of the care be down to you again?
