His own dog ran off and he followed me with mine (it was pitch black) and the dog is black.....but she ain't got a wanger or a set of balls which may be a dead give away considering his was male

Someone did try to take Tinks at Chatsworth last year though.
blush.gif
She was sat next me and some bloke came barging over and started yelling at her for getting away, and yanked her lead and she's such a dozy thing she trundled after him!
shocked.gif
I've never moved so fast
blush.gif
although he quickly noticed it wasn't his dog, and to be fair they did look similair.
crazy.gif
I nearly died though!

Some scumbag stole our OES and sold him at Beeston market. Luckily we had a friend in the police who got involved after we tracked the dog back to Beeston. He basically threatend the guy who took Max (the dog was 14 for Gods sake) and we managed to get him back.

Blimey I bet the poor bloke wished he had never tried once he came face to face with you being angry

I am a bit paranoid about people nicking my dogs though, mind you if they let them out the little darlings would just run off in three different directions chasing things

Someone thought i was trying to take their dog once, I was so embaressed.
Was in a small shop, had seen this dog in the shop before, staff fussing it, knew its name etc so thought it was one of theirs. once when i left the shop the dog went outside aswell, i got him by the collar and was just about to take him back into the shop when a man who had walked out the shop infont of me asked rather sharply what i was doing with his dog
blush.gif
i appologised a lot and was so embaresed.

If I think about it too much I still burst into uncontrollable tears, I didn't sleep more than an hour a night for the first year and I hate to think about where she may be. Loosing poor little Acorn last year at under a year old doesn't even compare, at least I know she is free from pain and safe. I can look back on happy times spent with her. When I think of Tottie all I can picture is her locked in some dark dank shed somewhere being used to breed hundreds of puppies and all alone
frown.gif

And typing that made me cry....

Me too, many years ago our little Lakeland cross Fell was stolen. It's awful isn't it I don't think I stopped looking for him until years after he would have died, even if he lived to very ripe old age.

Thank you, I was very very pregnant with the twins at the time but still walked for miles and miles and miles calling for him and putting posters through doors.

Just hope whoever stole our Paddy really loved him as we did, he was castrated and not a bad bone in his body, so no good for breeding or fighting - unless you were a bunny!

How awful, and thank goodness this scuzzbucket had Cayla to contend with!

Our N went missing for four days after running off on a walk but thankfully came back, dry as a bone and with not a mark on her - whereas I went in mud up to my knees looking for her, someone must have had her but we kicked up a huge stink.

Mum's blimmin shih-tzu went through a stage of being picked up by other people regularly. She's about 1/2 the size of your average S-T so everyone thinks she's a puppy. We've had 2 different people try and take her from the garden!! Luckily the other dogs barked like hell and got mum out the shower which put one bloke off
blush.gif
grin.gif
and the other put her down when faced with an angry GSD!

Years ago, some bloke tried to walk off with our first samoyed.

He was a rescue and was very nervous of certain situations (the dog not the bloke - although lets hope after I'd finished with him, certain situations made him very nervous). Poor mutley was quite shaken by it all - he also got confused easily!

Over this winter whilst it has been snowing badly I let beau out for a wee in the garden (tall fences and hedges all round) and I went for one maself! (sure u all wanted to know!) anyway when I came back to let him in he was nowhere to be seen in the garden and it took me all of 2 mins to realise (after searching under the hedges where he sometimes sniffs etc) that the gate was slightly open (which it hadnt been when i let him out!!)

so cue me in dressing gown, no shoes, socks anything else, running out the gate looking up and down the street (there is a busy main road at the bottom of our road!) screaming BEAU!!!!!! and lookingi n the snow for foot prints.

Luckily I looked up the top of the road where there is a 90 degree turn and up in the top corner was a bunch of dirty chavy kids playing and throwing snowballs for beau (he is a sucker for a good snowball the stupid git!)

However I just had to call loud enough for him to hear me and he pricked his ears and ran like a nutter back towards me. Then the chavs started to shout at me that he was playing with them and what right did I have blah blah blah.....

who can predict what my response was?!?!?!
smile.gif

But I did get him back but I think my tears were starting to freeze on my face I was that scared and the stupid snow wasnt helping! (although him being a black dog did!)

I'd like to see somone try and take mine! Bruan my big hairy ginger collie isn't really a people person, he's just not bothered about them but he won't go with anyone else and can put up a struggle if someone tried! My older bitch dot, would pobably go with anyone and the pup loves everybody but last night two walkers came through the yard one their way to the bothy and stopped to speak to the pup, Bruan was having none of it! Pushed her out of the road and held the walkers in a corner until I rescued them - not nastily just not keen to let them go! Bliss is definately Bruans pup!

My Ex tried to steal my dog

When we split, he contacted me on facebook, claiming my dog was his, and that he was going to get her that day, there would be nothing I could do about it. I was at work when i found out, my dog at my parents, I have never biked home that first.
Got home, put her in my car and drove to a friends, have never cried so much.

Eventually he lost interest when I had her spayed, he wanted to make money out of her, poor girl.

You poor thing. Having my dogs stolen is my worst nightmare. I would completely fall apart I know as when Merlin ran away I at last convinced myself he was dead just to give myself some peace but if they're stolen it must be just awful. Try and think of her in a happier place if you can.

Omg you poor people who have had dogs stolen
frown.gif
I am terrified of someone stealing Isabel, i dont like walking past groups of people with her, in case anyone snatches her.

I know im a bit paranoid but she is a bitch and people steal them to breed, anything that looks a bit different or cute, they think they would make money selling puppies

Where I used to live there was a gypsy camp a couple of miles away, when I walked my GSD the kids and teenagers would appear out of race around on quadbikes and shout over to me that they were going to steal him. They never came too near to me, but my dog used to run around like a mad thing and they would follow him. Luckily I had trained him well and he would recall immediately, but it would spoil our walks as I never knew when they might show up.
My GSD was so good natured that if they had got hold of him although he might have physically resisted once they had got a certain distance away from me, I honestly believe he wouldn't have got vicious with them as he never even showed his teeth in the 12 years I had him, and the gypsy camp was a police no go area so I know I would never have seen him again.
