Even though it seems like only yesterday that she looked like this...

... Flower officially turns four tomorrow! The last fortnight or so, since she's shed her winter coat, she looks so beautiful and grown-up that it sometimes takes my breath away.

While the weather has made it difficult to get any nice pictures of a neatly turned-out pony for you all, she looks almost as lovely loose in the field and a little bedraggled. So, for those of you who've followed her since that very first post on my 'fat or in foal' thread, here are some more recent pictures to show you how she's looking.

I did have some videos for you too, but I can never get them to upload on here!

At four, she's Welsh through and through and has taken very little from her mum in either looks or personality. To my eyes, she resembles her sire more with every passing day, which is no bad thing considering how handsome he is!

She's also officially booked in for breaking on the 1st of August, so please keep your fingers firmly crossed that the last four years have been worth the wait!

She's just unbelievably beautiful. That mane! And I love that her ears are still floofy.
Happy birthday Flower!

Wow - she is beautiful. But I’m sorry my fingers are itching to sort out that mane (sorry xx)

Mine are similarly itching!

She does look Welsh, even has the same black beard that mine has (that he will not let me remove for love nor money, then gets scared when it gets stuck in the bridle....)

She looks great, if she is Welsh get ready for being normal over most things, then being Welsh over the most RANDOM things!

She is beautiful and Happy Birthday! If she were mine that mane would have to be sorted out;). I like long manes but that is mega long!
It must be hot and uncomfortable for her and once she starts being ridden will get in the way and could be dangerous. You can still have a long mane but that really does need sorting out. Sorry!

Oh dear this has made me a bit teary....I do remember the first thread and I'm so pleased she's turned out the way she has. I'm sure she will make a lovely ridden horse for you, although I wouldn't be surprised if she turns out to be a bit opinionated, she seems like such a character! Happy birthday Flower.

I dont want to be negative but as she is mostly welsh D thats not how her mane should be. I would have it half that length at least, she is beautiful but a bit of trimming and tidying and she would be amazing. I would by worried she would stand on it when rolling or laying down. Must also be really hot even if plaited up. Thats just me though, shes your horse your choice but I think she would look fantastic trimmed up a bit. It will always grow back if you dont like it.

Well if you don't want to be negative then don't be. That is a perfectly lovely birthday photo of a horse that most of us remember being born with fond memories then you come along banging on about how her mane should be when shes backed in two months time as you say not your horse not your business.
