Nicked today from the field closest to my house. They must have walked across the field my horse is in to get to them. But why?

More worried about the fact that people have been near my horse and the house than the barrows.

Definitely report it to the police, that way if future stuff is nicked they have to take it more seriously as not just a one off.

Maybe if you get replacements leave them full of poo and empty them when you get there each time. Or get one of those cabinets you can lock?

Sorry you've suffered this, that kind of petty theft is so corrosive of enjoyable life :-(((

I'd still report it to them. My mums work friend had some washing stolen off the line in her back garden. Felt silly reporting it as it was just a few tops and shorts that went but was more worried whoever did it had been in their back garden. Police said they were glad she reported it and urge people to report things, even small things. It helps them build a better picture up

Already have fake CCTV and signs to stop people dumping bottles, cans, condoms, etc. in my hay field and paddock and they walked right past them. The joy of having footpaths open to the public on your land...

That happened round our way and they used them in a load of break in's in the area. Then left them at the last yard. I'd report it just incase they turn up in some one else's yard in a few weeks.

I had my horses water buckets stolen once. I reported it but felt silly reporting two trug buckets, but the police were very helpful and spent a few weeks driving past my yard as part of their route.

We had an ancient old ladder with rungs missing that we used to get into the field (wall nearest our house has 10'+ drop, so you have to walk all those extra 100m to the gate :p) and some ********* stole that! We don't even know how they managed to spot it, it wasn't exactly in plain view!
