Right, I am a very undecisive person, and I have 2 options, and dont know which one to take.
Looking for a new horse, need a good weight carrier, safe, etc etc.
But I cant ride at the mo because of a broken back, so decided we would for now have a look for a show pony and go into in hand showing, until I can ride, if I decide I want to. All decided.
Then I had a call today from a really nice lady who knows what we are looking for in a riding horse, and has the ideal one by the sounds of it.
So, do I go and look at this horse, even though I am not sure I can or want to ride again, because there are not many of that type around, or stick to the in hand showing idea and miss an ideal riding horse for us?

Go see the horse hun, if hes not too far and the money they are asking is right. You will only regret it if you dont go to see him/her.

But dont pressure your self to buy. In any way. Best thing is be honest with your self. Ok there is no such thing as a perfect horse, but if there is something you feel you can't deal with or correct dont feel like you have to buy him because he might come round. Does that make sense??

I think you should have a look too but recovering from a broken back I'd say you need to be a million % if you decide to go for it - any doubts, any at all no matter how small then walk away (sorry I'm sure you know all this already!) - hope you like it!

I, too, think you should go and look at the horse. Your OH is going to ride it as well as you isn't he? If it is suitable for him to ride now, then you can be getting to know it during that period. TBH I'd be wary of in-hand showing with a broken back, some ponies can jump around and be very silly in-hand - even miniature Shetlands- and that could easily pull you off balance. Having worked with RDA horses, I know that the right horse can look after the rider. You never know, this might be the right horse for you. Good luck!

I would def go and look too!! He might just be the one! If your OH is gonna ride it till your better then thats great, but if he's not, whats to stop you doing some local level in hand showing with this horse until you have decided if you will ride again? Sorry if thats a stupid idea ( I know nothing about showing so have no idea what type of classes are in hand etc )

Def worth a look though, you never know until you see him, you might get there and think NO WAY, or maybe you'll think you wanna bring him home and keep him forever, you never know!

Good luck, let us know how you get on!

After everything that's happened I can understand why you feel so unsure but I suggest you go and have a look. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. This may be just the one!!! But you will never know if you don't go. xx

I agree with everyone else, go and take a look. It certainly won't hurt. If there is something not quite right for you about him, then you can put that option out of your mind.

If you don't go, you might always wonder if you should have.

Let us know how you get on, good luck :)

Thanks for all the advice, I think the overall decision is to go and see him!!! Will ring her tommorrow.

Echo everything that's been said previously. Just because you go and see a horse doesn't mean you HAVE to buy it.

Good luck and keep us all updated :D

If you don't go and see it you will always be wondering if this was 'the' horse and you missed out on it.

Go and see it, you can always politely say no thank you and walk away.

But please let us know either way!!!

Good luck and fingers crossed for you.
