Does anyone keep their horses at home and have someone do yard duties for them, like muck out and feed?

How much would I expect to pay for someone to come and muck out 10 horses/ponies and feed in the mornings, and turn out or take in whatever was needed, change rugs and give a quick groom where necessary? Would they be paid by hour or an agreed price for all the tasks? And not as a one-off, but every weekday?

I do this on the weekends for 8 horses and in return get full livery for my horse. I know she pays another girl for some work in the morning which is paid differently but now sure how. I think around £8-£10 an hour is about the norm.

I`d work out how long it would take the person then work out how much that comes to if paid by hourly rate and offer fixed amount for the work then if the person is slow or fast that is up to them
e.g jobs would take you say 3 hours @£8.00p/h so I would be offering £24/£25 per morning.

Gerbilgirl take care, you could be on a very slippery slope! To do it properly you would need to pay at least the minimum wage, have employer's liability insurance, pay slips, tax codes, NIC, H&S risk analysis, no smoking, holiday arrangements etc etc etc etc etc etcetcetcetcetcetcetcetcetc. Good luck!!!!
