Someone wake me up from this nightmare :(

Stepping out really well, sheath still swollen, but spoke to the vet about it, and he says it's the after effects from his illness, and exercise will help it go back down. It's a waiting game now to see how he reacts as the effects of the metacam wears off, hopefully he'll be looking at getting some stretched legs by the weeked, fingers crossed :)
He's pretty fed up of being stuck in, but has resigned himself to it, no fighting to get out.
 
Today, my horse decided it was "Mug thy owner day".. beg, nibble, beg, nibble, beg, nibble.. "want! want! want it now!" I'm pleased with his progress, nice and steady, no unwanted back steps as of yet, but i know not to get my hopes up just yet, previous experience has taught me, when it comes to pets, big or small, there's always something that comes back and bites you in the a*** just when you think you've won the battle.
His sheath is no better, but no worse, guess that's something that will go down with time and exercise. In contact with vet via face book everyday, pictures and videos posted.
I do have a couple of videos, which at some point, when I work out another way to download them onto here.
 
Hes looking better, the swollen sheath sometimes comes up after box rest or in hot weather in some horses, when hes on the move again it should go down, if it doesnt id ring the vet again
 
bless him! caught up late and sending vibes for continued & complete recovery.

My gelding had a swollen sheath - totally different circs obviously - but it went down when we had the vet out to give it a 5 star clean. So maybe thats an option if it does not go down of its own accord.
 
Today the nightmare ended. Had the vet out, different one from in the practice, and got told he doesn't have lami! He's just got odema in his sheath and belly which now has a chance to go down, as he's now allowed back out! Whatever ailed him has long since gone, and we'll never know what it was.
There's been more twists and turns in this saga than I can cope with.. but, at least i now have my healthy horse back..
 
FANTASTIC NEWS !!!!

So pleased - it's been so stressful for you, all of this. Shy had a lami scare, and it was horrendous, but it turned out to be a false alarm too. x
 
What a relief for you, sorry if I missed anything but did the vet say what it actually was if it wasn't lami.
