I decided to write up a little report from my first BE Novice experience, however firstly Id like to thank people who posted photos of fences around Somerford from previous years, somehow it prepared me slightly at what to expect!!
Anyway.
I took Rem along to Cheshire on saturday for a days dressage training with Sonya Hall (friend and trainer) which finally nailed our rein back, as we struggled ALOT!! We stayed with Sonya that night ready for a tack cleaning session in the morning and off to Somerford at 12pm.
At 12, we put a sparking Remmy and tack onto the lorry and arrived with plenty of time to spare, every thing was nice and calm and with a bit of help warming up in the heat we did a nice test and settled for 38pens.
Now, out SJ has been rather entertainign to say the least so after being rushed into the arena as they were early, we had two down (bit of shame because he jumped fab!!) and off the the XC.
This bit i was PETRIFIED of!! Its the biggest track i have ever done on him, and to hear the horse before me fell off the the first water didnt help my nerves!! But with help from Sonya I warmed up well and set off with my arse on fire but we had a stop at the same fence,
but being my first novice i didnt mind and we carried on, and FLEW everything else including a double of corners which scared me alot!! I am a very proud mummy of Remmy right now.
Having produced him since he was 4years (now 7!) and having done nothing to have done his first Novice, i am amazed with how we have progressed!!
Just wanted to share my happiness around
i am still over the moon, off the Moreton Morrell next week, DEFINATELY up for it now!!
Thanks
Lauren and Remmy
PS who was the photographer today??!!
xx
