Hi all

Let me set the scene, started sun with unafil dressage at Merrist did E41 and don't know how but we won with 68.4%

Sun night we had party at friends, to say I was slaughtered was an understatement and getting to bed somewhere around 3 put paid to me walking the course the day before

Today left the yard at 9 took about 1 3/4 hrs and had time to walk XC before my dressage, thought course asked enough questions but not bad for the first of the season
So dressage well Saf took a dislike to the conveyor belt that runs around the edge of the rings
shocked.gif
she was not happy and the end ring resembled a roller costa and what with the clanking test was tense and somewhat inattentive

Got away with a 39.5 so better than I thought and lovely words from the judge "Paces absolutley true, lovely mare of quality but needs to soften and come rounder for energy to come thru" Insert happy smile

SJ was running very late and deep

was in 2 minds but as they had resited all the fences and seemed small gave it a go, last time I tried jumping her on such going I retired so was over the moon to jump possibly her best ever round as far as rythm and her attitude so was slightly dissapointed to have 2 down a related distance and 2nd part of the treble, still hugged her like it was clear
grin.gif

Onto the XC, fences 1 to 4 just fantastic 5ab was a rails to a house in the trees she backed off a bit and jumped far to big but up as opposed to over and got 3 strides in
blush.gif
very clever girl and this was the first time I was hugely vocal
blush.gif

6 Sharks teeth she jumped massive more woops of delight from me
blush.gif

7ab a double on a left curve so nearly missed b but loads of right leg sorted it
smile.gif

Big chair next WOW, 10ab tyres easy then forgot where I was going
blush.gif
missed the gap and wasted loads of time going back for the gap, dam getting drunk the previous day and not walking the course twice
shocked.gif

Corner fab
smile.gif
onto the water gave her plenty of time to get straight double of red logs in around the Int brush and unsighted to a skinny arrow head out WOW again, dad was stood there and said yet again I was wooping and getting excited
blush.gif
grin.gif

Onto 2 pig arcs
grin.gif
, open ditch pallisade thing
grin.gif
and then the coffin mummy took one too many pulls and cue stop
blush.gif
all my fault came around and jumped it so well again more praise for Saf nearly forgot the left turn to a brush and onto the last
grin.gif

Well you would of thought I had won the lottery as I was buzzing so much, my horse is a god, finally it feels right, mother was a muppet getting lost and not trusting her to the coffin but Saf was awsome, I really do think it was our best day ever in terms of control and the way she jumped, sod the score

Well done! I think there are lots of us that would agree that some of our best 'rides' are not really reflected in scores - but stay in the memory forever

Dad keeps laughing at me as I was wooping around the course, must take it more seriously as really must of wasted so much time today punching the air

Great report. Like ISZ said, sometimes your best days aren't always the days when you come home with a rosette. Sounds like you'll be getting rosettes soon though.

This report made me grin just reading it! Well done Saf and Safs Mummy!!
The best xc i have ever done i got elimintated at about 5 fences before the end, however we had done a huge sharks teeth in woods, which got taken off the course after i did it and a huge brick wall and pony had flown them both! I was so vocal the commentator said "and i have reports that Kirsten Hendry is giving her horse lots of vocal encouragement"
grin.gif

That's fantastic news...well done
smile.gif
So pleased it's all clicked at last. I felt like I rode every fence with you too...great report
grin.gif

Claire you have really made me very happy today reading this.
First of all congrats on winning at Elementary.
I am so pleased youre back firing on all cylinders eventing again. You deserve it, Saf is one in a million.
Well done hon
Vxx

Can I get a woop woop ! Brilliant !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I came down to the yard last night - not to see UV just to see you but you werent back yet !
Fab round - screw the score ! To do that well on that ground is just fab !
We have to start a "I make a hell of alot of noise" clique
Clare I think you actually went to bed at about 4.30 ! - Last time I looked across the room you were sat up in the dark holding the arm of the sofa !
Big Kiss for Saf today - I expect she has had uv and M up all night talking about it ( Uv didnt understand a word and M thought she had been a mug ! )

Fantastic well done. Sounds like she has come on a lot and with a performance like that your scores will soon be reflecting how good she is.

Big pat to Saf

Thank you to you all for the lovely comments

Saf is fine this morning, eyes looked a little tired was a 12 hr day but she went off bucking her heart out when I let her go and then preceded to round up Charlie pony trying to make him play,
I'm still buzzing this morning and going to bore all at work now with my story
grin.gif
