Not only do I have a wasps nest, I also the baby pigeon that's decided to live in there, not really sure how old it is, it's not really young but doesn't fly off neither.

I noticed it the other day, there is a large gap in the tack room where things can get in and out (yard dog/chickens etc) hence why its only a feed room really, anyway I noticed this little guy a few days ago, I chose to ignore and not touch it because I thought it would either make it's way back or its mum would come to the rescue...or one of the yard dogs would finish it off thinking I wouldnt see it the next day, besides it didn't really look too great.

Anyway I did see it again, twice in two days running, so I’ve been leaving it some water (in an old feed supplement lid) and some horse food mix (well I don't know what they eat) anyway it seems to doing ok and it's obviously moving around because it was on top of the bins/buckets and poo'd everywhere.

So now what, I don't want it to get killed but if it stays in there, the dog will eventually hunt it down, I don't want to handle it because I will scare it half to death, if I buy some bird feed it will never fly away, if I tell the YO he’ll probably twist it’s head off.:(

HELP! any suggestions please?

Pigeon pie?

More seriously.... you could try to ring your local wildlife rescue people and see if they will take it. You really don't want it pooing all over the feed etc. Plus you run the risk of catching citicosis.

LOL, not something I've tried.

Local wildlife rescue, are pigeons classed as wild life though?

hang on I'll have a look on google!....but what do I search?

Can't help with the pidgeon, but a tip about the wasps nest....

I had one in my shed where I keep all my bits & pieces & food. It was about the size of a tennis ball and only seemed to have one or two wasps buzzing around it. I sprayed all over and inside it with fly spray and the wasps went and never came back.

DISCLAIMER: It worked for me, but I know nothing about wasps nests and I may have been taking a big chance - I claim no responsibility whatsoever if you get stung :)

You were a brave woman! lol that's all I can say, this nest is bigger than a tennis ball, more like the size of a small football/dolls head, apparently they are 'quiet' at the moment so they might not send a warning signal (to attack) there more grumpy and sting more in August/September time when they have been feeding on fruit etc

hmmmm power phazer *thinks* :D

We had a wasps nest in the garden and used some stuff from B&Q, like a foam, to spray all over it and it just disintergrated.
We have now just ordered some of these...
http://www.waspinator.co.uk/

They had them all over Centre Parcs and low-and-behold we didn't see any wasps in the complex and it was really warm, with food, drinks, ice creams etc everywhere! Apperently the wasps just think that they are another nest, so won't come anywhere near.

No help with the baby pigeon tho sorry!:o
